Our Journey Together

This 11 x 17, glossy poster print is part of a pastel chalk series that shows Black people interacting in loving and connected ways. Drawn in my artistic style that uses bold graphic colors with bold "brush" strokes, using the side of my chalk pastel.  In my drawing process, I use the pastels to create negative and positive spaces, which adds to the sense of freedom and spirit invoked in the work.  I think of this style of work as modern, Black, that reminisces folk art.
